    Right outside the front door is the well-maintained Crescent Gardens with colourful flower beds and benches to sit and enjoy the peaceful setting. A short stroll you will find the outdoor paddling pool (seasonal), skateboarding area, bumper boats, trampoline, crazy golf, pitch and putt, foot golf (Easter- October), a tourist shop selling buckets, spades, ice-creams and public bathrooms nearby. Whitby leisure centre is also close by open to the public for indoor swimming. Along past the crazy golf you can find Whitby Cliff Lift for a quick and convenient trip up and down to the beach.

    Whalebone Arch

    The Whalebone Arch and The Statue of Captain James Cook can be found South of Crescent Gardens with spectacular views of the Piers and Abbey Ruins.

    Whitby Harbour

    A bustling fishing harbour with plenty to do and see from catching a boat trip or just watching them come in and out, you might even catch the swing bridge opening. A popular choice for the children is crabbing or having fun in the amusements. Enjoy wandering the shops, eating delicious food or relax with a drink in the many restaurants, cafes and bars.

    Whitby Abbey

    The Abbey ruins are set high on a cliff top, for nearly 1500 years the Abbey has been attracting visitors, its known that Bram Stoker got his inspiration to write the novel ‘Dracula’ from the Abbey and Whitby. One way to reach the Abbey is from the old town up the famous 199 steps.

    West Cliff Beach

    A large sandy beach accessed by numerous points along the cliff down long ramps to reach the bottom or using the Cliff Lift (summer months). West Cliff beach is home to the colourful line of beach huts available for hire. Near the slipway at west pier, you can hire deckchairs and windbreaks. Lifeguards are there from May-September.

    Tate Hill Beach

    A small sandy sheltered beach located on the east side close to the east pier and not far from the 199 steps. No lifeguards on this beach.
